What makes her shop different?
Well, Dix takes the sterling and works it into textures that remind me of the those found in nature. Everything from a lake rippled by the wind, to the smooth but bubbled inside of an abalone shell, to a piece of ice formed on top of flowing water. She selects stones that accent and compliment the metal, improving the finished look instead of overpowering the sterling silver.
A few of my favorites:
This garnet is bold, but is placed so it doesn't distract from the texture on the rest of the pendant-- which is equally beautiful to the stone!
This jasper cocktail ring below is a perfect example of the organic nature of Dix's jewelry. The stone is everything here and doesn't need a fancy setting--it is bold and eye-catching all on it's own.
This unique pendant is just fantastic. The silver is so perfectly textured and the tiniest blue topaz stones are sprinkled about.
Here is a blue topaz pinky ring, opposite in many ways from the jasper ring on the bottom left. The sterling silver and unique band design is the focus now, and the small blue topaz stone is the accent. Perfect harmony.
